You can probably not find more diversity in nature than in this tour. The South Coast of Iceland is comprised of volcanoes, glaciers, glacier rivers, black sand, marshes, lakes and waterfalls of all sizes. These include waterfalls like Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss and volcanoes such as Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull Glaciers.
First we will stop at the 60 meters high (197 ft) Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which not only is a true eyecatcher but the only known waterfall of its kind, where it is possible to walk behind it (We recommend you to to bring a raincoat). The waterfall is very picturesque and therefore its photo can be found in many books and calendars.
Then we will visit Skogafoss, one of the biggest waterfalls in the country with a width of 15 metres (49 feet) and a drop of 60 metres (200 feet). After that we will drive along the base of Eyjafallajökull volcano to Reynisdrangar, a collection of 66 metre (216 feet) high rock pillars that rise out of the sea a few meters from the shore.
From there we head to Dyrhólaey a 120 metre (394 ft) high headland extending into the sea and forming an impressive natural arch. The area has a rich birds nesting where you can explore the puffins, fulmars and guillemots in summer.
Last but not least we will visit Vik, Iceland’s only sea village that does not have a harbour. There you can have some refreshments before we drive back to Reykjavik.
