Next Level Tour Experience.
I booked a two day south coast tour with Pristine Iceland for a short trip with my wife in late February. I’d been advised that driving in the winter could be dicey – so I figured a private tour would allow us to still cover lots of ground but without the stress.
…and that’s exactly what happened. Hinrik picked us up at our hotel on the first morning of the tour and and we didn’t have to think or worry about anything from there. We hit the usual tourist spots but he also took us to some amazing places where there were no other people.
The weather was pretty bad and our ice cave tour on the second day was canceled. He didn’t miss a beat – and instead just made more amazing, off the beaten path stops to give us a full day experience.
Hinrik has tons of great information and we learned lots about Iceland’s history, culture, and the places we visited.
He was close when we needed (ex: would be available to take pictures for us or give us information about what we were viewing) but also gave us our space and allowed us to stay at each location as long as we wanted. The schedule never felt rushed.
Admittedly, private tours aren’t the cheapest option – but working with Pristine Iceland took our experience to the next level. I’d highly recommend using them and will do so myself in the future if given the chance.

I have been traveling to Iceland for over 30 years, and I have slowly watched Iceland’s tourism industry grow and grow. While this is great in many regards, it is becoming more and more difficult to get away from the crush of other travelers and see Iceland the way I remember from many years ago. Pristine Iceland was able to find many locations for our small group of 4 (all new to Iceland but me), in just a short day-trip from Reykjavik to the Reykjanes peninsula.
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history and geology (her specialty) of the area as we traveled in their jeep. We were able to travel at our own pace, and enjoy each sight in our own time. She was always very flexible and willing to accommodate anything we wanted to do while making many great recommendations along the way, including some great local restaurants. The jeep was is good condition, clean, and comfortable.
We had a wonderful time, and would like to pursue a longer journey when we visit next.

Customized day trip
Our day trip with Pristine Island was a wonderful and critical addition to our first visit to Iceland. We absolutely fell in love with the landscape and culture of the country. Hinrik, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. We appreciated that Pristine Iceland allowed us to develop a custom itinerary to hit sites on our wish list – sites that are generally not combined on tours. It was, overall, an amazing experience that I cannot imagine missing out on. We will certainly look to use their services on future visits.

I happened to run into solveig in Stykkishólmur . She was on vacation and even so she planned every step of my trip highlighting the hiking and baths I wanted to go to. She spent 2 hours of her time with me and even helped me find an amazing hotel on lake myvatn! If I ever come back, I would definitely use this company and solveig!

We choose Pristine Iceland after carefully comparing the quality and prices of many companies that provide private tours in Iceland.
A friend of ours recommended Pristine Iceland tours and it sounded incredible what he described so we booked for 4 days, best advice we got! If you want to see as much as possible in a 4 day period, this is it. The tours were thoughtfully organized and tailored to our family. And what an enjoyable way of traveling!
We saw so many incredible places under the guidance and care of the knowledgeable driver/guide Bjarni, who was a very pleasant travel companion. Nothing felt rushed and we learned so many interesting facts about Iceland. The fact that we could pull off and stop whenever we wanted made it feel like we were just driving with an Icelandic friend who was showing us around.
We booked the South Coast tour, which absolutely blew my mind, Borgarfjordur, Snaefellsnes and Golden Circle. The scenery was unbelievably and I would love to visit Iceland again!
A camera is a must as the views are spectacular. We had trouble after the tour deciding which day we liked best. My personal favorite is the the cliffs of Snæfellsnes overlooking the ocean to the South. There were dozens of majestic waterfalls, a glacier ride where we learned a lot about geology and history of the Iceland.
